Round 1 – 28 Mar 18 | Erlestoke Camp
Army Cycling Mountain Bike Cross Country (ACMTBXC) Race Series 2018 kick started at Erlestoke Camp on Salisbury Plain 28 March 2018. The event was the first of five that will take place across the country during the summer. The series is set up as grass roots racing to encourage soldiers and officers to compete on courses that are designed to be challenging to both novices and hardened racers, #inspiringsoldierstocycle.
Conditions on the day were perfect with blue sky and sunshine, sorry that was last year. The terrain was arduous due to the persistent rain that fell, the course changed significantly from last year due to this very reason. That aside, the course design team had set up a fantastic circuit that included some brutal climbs, long slippery fire roads and still some sweet single track through the wood blocks.
