Congratulations to everyone who competed in the Army Cycling Inter-Corps Road Championships at Redbridge last week, featuring the 17% climb of the Hoggenberg. Two stages: a three-lap Individual Time-Trial followed by a Circuit Race, made even tougher by a wet track to start after an early downpour! This dried as the riders threw down Wattage bombs up the Hoggenberg during their individual efforts, meaning we were in for a super-fast Circuit Race for stage two of the Open and Women’s-only competitions. Time bonuses were on offer during the second stage, with riders scrapping for every second – made essential by how tight the standings were after stage one. After the tanks were well and truly emptied across the board, here’s how the final standings panned out:

Women’s only:
1st: RAPTC
2nd: Int Corps
3rd: REME/AGC

Open:
1st: REME
2nd: Infantry
3rd: RAPTC
