The Army BMX Race team are three quarters of the way through their 2025 race season. SSgt Ady Rumsey has been successfully flying the flag in the Midlands region – racing three rounds of the series so far with two 5ths and a 3rd place to show for his efforts. He is currently placed in fourth in the region. Lt Col Tom Odling, Maj Ornella McGarvey-Miles, and LCpl George Warner have all been racing in both the South Regional Series and the British Cycling National Series. Tom is currently ranked 2nd in the regional standings and 10th Nationally. George is ranked 3rd in the region and 15th Nationally and Nel is sitting in 10th in the south regional and 9th Nationally. Significant highlights and racing milestones have been met this year: George has made it through to a number of National A-finals for the first time since returning to racing, Ornella is well on the way to completing her first National Series, Ady has made the Podium at Regionals with a 2nd 3rd place, and Tom has managed two National Podiums with a 3rd place at Manchester and Gosport.
The new Kalas BMX specific race jerseys have received a lot of compliments – both for the design and the quality of materials, they are a hit with the whole team. Endura continue to support us with the best race pants in the business and this year the whole team are using Endura Knee, Elbow and Body Armour – thankfully, we have had no major injuries so far!
The team are now looking forward to the final National Series race weekend held in Birmingham in July and then the British Championships at Cyclopark in August.
